Am Eye Right?

Salam and hola beautiful people!

So, today on another health topic is contact lens. I supposed many of you wear contact lenses. Whether, they are the transparent ones or the coloured ones. As we all know,

"eyes are the window to the soul."
Of course we all wanted big pretty eyes. But today, I will focus more on the 'taking care part'. Because some of us might just slip through the thought of taking care of our contact lens.

People wear contact lens for only two reasons. One, they could be wearing lens because they are tired/hate wearing glasses. Two, for beauty purposes. Could also be both. But for whatever reason, we are glad that they are here:)

Firstly, I would advise all of you to get your contact lens from the certified store. You have to remember these are your eyes we're talking about. You only have a pair of them. SO, please love them. I heard many cases on how people wear fake contact lenses and this happened to them.

Eerie right?

Tips:

Before wearing them
  1. Make sure that your lens are not expired. If the lens are build for a month use, do not exceed the time of usage.
  2. Always make sure that your hands are clean and dry before you handle your lens. Water can contaminate your lens because water do also consist bacteria that may not be visible by the naked eyes.
  3. Remember to always rinse of your lens with saline solution and not tap water.
  4. Be sure that your lens are on the right position. Wearing them wrongly can cause eye irritation and can be dangerous to the eyes. They could slide to the back of your eyes so please be careful.

The right side of the lens should be round and no sharp ends but for the wrong side, the side should appear sharper.

When wearing:

  1. Remember that you are wearing lens. Do not rub your eyes. The lens might come out from your eyes. Yikes! Wouldn't that ruin a date.
  2. If your eyes got dry, you can use the eye dropper to moisture your eyes and your contact lenses. But, they do have a specialized one for the lens.
  3. Remember to always bring a small solution and lens casing with you every time that you are travelling. We might not know if any emergency will happen at that time.
  4. Do not use the tap water nor your saliva to clean the lens if any emergency happens.
  5. Remove lens before swimming, entering a hot tube or before playing with nearby fire.

After wearing:
  1. Clean your hands. Be sure that you clean your hands with soap. Dry your hands and drop some of the saline water to the fingers that you used to take out your lens.
  2. Remove your lens slowly and clean them with the saline solution. Be sure to use straight motion and not in circular motion. The circulation could tear your lens. Especially those who wear soft contact lens.
  3. Store your lens in the proper lens casing. Remember to change the lens casing every three (3) months.
  4. Leave them for at least 6 hours or overnight! Get some beauty sleep.
  5. If you wear your lens occasionally, remember to change your lens solution at least once in two days. Everyday is better. The longer the lens soaked in the multipurpose solution, the faster the lens can contaminate. Or better, use daily contact lens so you can just throw away after using them.
  6. Do not share your lens.
  7. Do not sleep with your lens!
  8. Remember to get eye check up once in a while
